  • Engineered for the Permian
The Permian throws hard freezes, softball-sized hail, 60–118 mph winds, dust storms, and 100°F-plus heat at your equipment. An open-skid VRU absorbs every one of those insults directly. We keep the failure-prone components inside an insulated, force-ventilated envelope.

A cooler box means fewer heat-driven trips, longer life for elastomers and electronics, and safer surfaces for the crews who work inside it — reinforced by orienting the controls to an eastern exposure, away from the intense afternoon sun.
The proof is the field’s own history: the same class of Arctic storm that cut Permian gas production roughly 85% during Winter Storm Uri (2021) did materially less damage during Winter Storm Fern (2026), specifically because operators had winterized and enclosed exposed equipment in between. Why Uptime Is the Whole Game

On a modern tank battery, VRU availability equals both compliance and revenue. Every hour the compressor is down is an hour the site may be venting or flaring out of permit — and losing saleable gas and NGL. Federal OOOOb/OOOOc rules, New Mexico's push toward roughly 98% capture, and Texas RRC/TCEQ authorizations all turn vapor capture from a nice-to-have into a permit condition.

When one compressor goes down, production does not

N+1 is a capacity standard, not an equipment count. A site isn’t redundant just because it has two or more machines — it’s redundant only when the remaining units can carry the full defined load at the actual suction and discharge conditions, and only when the redundancy extends past the compressor to shared transformers, PLCs, scrubbers, coolers, and valves.

If the largest required compressor becomes unavailable today, can the remaining system handle the full specified gas volume at the required suction and discharge conditions — with no temporary equipment, emergency modifications, or production curtailment? If yes, it may be the real deal. If it depends on favorable weather, reduced production, theoretical ratings, shared equipment that can't be isolated, or a spare that isn't ready to run, it's only redundancy on paper.
